Having been raised in a family-owned business, I know that customer service is the key ingredient to success. Elements of this include honesty, integrity, and action. I found John to possess these qualities. John was open with me on all levels. This openness is necessary in the decision-making process. My transaction, on the dollar scale, was what one might say "on the low end" but John treated me with the same degree of importance as he might handling a half-million dollar closing. For that I am appreciative. Something else John did for me was to enlighten me in the complexities of the real estate business. Once I had a better understanding of the inner-workings, I felt more confident arriving at a decision. I really did (and still do) feel that John was watching out for my personal interests.
One observation I made to John on one of our first encounters was that he seemed to be quite popular based on the number of times his cell phone went off while we were looking at houses. Being from the "Baby Boomer" generation, I find cell phones more of a nuisance than a convenience. John replied that while he was sorry that it was causing an interruption, it was necessary to make himself available to immediately respond or otherwise be inundated with text messages and voice mails to which he would have to spend hours replying. I felt this was a very valid and frank response. And in today's economy, I don't begrudge anyone the opportunity to be competitive. My only "real thought" on this is leave the cell phone on, but turn the volume down.
Lastly, the ERA office personnel in general treated me with professionalism and respect.
I would, without hesitation, recommend John specifically and ERA in general to anyone I know who might be looking to make a real estate investment.

I have always been
extremely satisfied working with both ERA and John Houston. The one detail that
stands out to me above all is the bottom line. I have had so many friends sell
houses and find out the bottom line is not what they anticipated and they were
both shocked and disappointed at the closing. With John Houston I always know
what I will end up with and all of the expenses. Many times offers look good up
front and then with all the extras and add ons it is not that great of a deal.
Another detail that has always made both buying and selling pleasurable is the
accessibility of John either in person or on the phone. I am sure there have
been times he has thought; "Oh no, What does she want this time?"
But, John has answered my calls and eased my mind! The answer has not
always been the easy answer or the one I may have wanted to hear; but it has
been the best answer for the situation.
I hope to deal with John in the future in both buying a selling properties. Who
knows what the future holds; but I am ready for some exciting new
possibilities!!

Dear John,
I asked you to perform a miracle. I think you felt in your heart that it would
be a total longshot and nearly impossible, but you totally put your heart,
time, and efforts into selling this beat up condo. I told you we had less than
a month to do it or the bank would take it. Even tho I didn't make much money
off the deal, I saved my credit because you sold the condo within two weeks!!!
The bank didn't get it and what a great feeling to know that we beat the bank.
What a great feeling to unload that thing and not have to worry about how to
keep making payments on it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
